Happening for High School Youth
Contact: Nick Kuehmichael and Julie Spanbauer, Lay Directors email@example.com
What is Happening?
Happening is a Christian experience for youth in grades 9 through 12 as well as adults who work with them. The weekend is not a retreat, but is a one-time, unique experience of God and the way that God can be a part of our everyday lives. During the weekend there will be singing, fellowship, surprises, prayer, fun and friendship. Indivi-duals are given the chance to discover more about them-selves, God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, their families and their world. Led by young people who have attended Happening and adults who also serve on the weekend, participants hear talks on many subjects and discuss in small groups.
Happening looks at who Jesus is, examines faith, and helps all see God as a part of daily living which can transform life at home, school and in the world. This encounter with Jesus Christ helps youth learn about what it means to be a disciple. Many young people say Happening was a turning point in their life.
The next Happening will be held at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in De Pere. Activities begin with Check-in on Friday at 7:00 pm. Please eat dinner before you arrive. Participants must attend the entire weekend. If you are unable to stay on site for the entire weekend, then plan to attend the next Happening. Happening ends on Sunday, following a celebration service that starts at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are encouraged to attend the service.
A $45 fee includes Saturday & Sunday meals, snacks, t-shirt and program costs. The fee should not stop you from attending. Check with your congregation for assistance.
You are able to pay online or send a check later for fees. Your Application and fee must be received prior to the Happening. A confirmation email is sent following your online registration. Register with the button at the top of the page.
