Happening for High School Youth
Contact: Tony Walter, Lay Canon for Youth Ministry email@example.com
What is Happening?
A Christian experience for youth in grades 9-12 and adults who work with youth. Not a retreat, but a one-time, unique experience of God. The weekend has singing, fellowship, surprises, fun and friendship. Individuals are given the chance to discover more about themselves, God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, their families and their world. Led by young people who have attended Happening and adults who also serve on the weekend, participants hear talks on many subjects and discuss in small groups.
Happening looks at who Jesus is, examines faith, and helps all see God as a part of each day which can transform life at home, school and in the world. This encounter with Jesus Christ helps learn about what it means to be a disciple. Many young people say Happening was a turning point in their life and encouraged them in their participation in local congregations, the church and the world.
The next Happening weekend site will be held at All Saints, Appleton. It begins with registration on Friday at 7:00 pm - please eat dinner before arriving. It ends Sunday after-noon with a celebration service starting at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are en-couraged to attend the service. Participants must attend the entire weekend.
The $45 fee includes Saturday and Sunday meals, snacks, t-shirt and other program costs. The fee should not stop you from attending, so check with your congregation for financial assistance.
Register here. A confirmation email be sent confirming details. Your Application and fee must be received at least two weeks prior to the Happening.
